About Us

Empowering Journeys, Bridging Communities, Serving Migrants for 43 years and beyond

We celebrated the 43rd anniversary of Mission For Migrant Workers, a significant milestone for our organization. As part of our annual celebration as an outreach program at St. John's Cathedral, we gathered our staff, volunteers, and clients to sing the beautiful Tagalog song "Buhay Na Kasiya Siya," filling the Cathedral with its echoing beauty.

Our official celebration was a memorable event where we welcomed our Advisory Board, Migrant partners, volunteers, supporters, and sponsors. The theme for this year, "Empowering Journeys, Bridging Communities, Serving Migrants for 43 Years and Beyond," resonated throughout the evening. We heard touching testimonies from migrant partner leaders and previous clients who have benefited from Mission For Migrant Workers in the past.

The event featured speeches from the Dean of St John's Cathedral, our General Manager, the Advisory Board Chairperson, and a member of the Board of Directors, highlighting the impactful work of Mission For Migrant Workers over the past 43 years. We expressed gratitude to our donors for their generous support and reaffirmed our commitment to continue our mission together.

Certificates were awarded to our staff and migrant leaders who participated in the 12-hour "Mental Health First Aid" program by ReSource Counselling Centre. Cultural activities from Filipino, Indonesian, and Sri Lankan migrants captivated the audience, with everyone capturing the beautiful performances on their phones. The Filipino Fellowship choir from St. John's Cathedral graced us with their angelic voices.

The afternoon concluded with a heartfelt video of "Happy Anniversary" to Mission For Migrant Workers, followed by a group picture capturing the room filled with hope for the future.

As a non-subvented registered charitable organisation in Hong Kong, the MFMW must generate its own funds to sustain its services. We completely rely on individual donors and private funding. A regular donation will help us improve our sustainability and ensure good planning of programs to comprehensively support migrant domestic workers’ needs in a sustainable manner.
